Melissa Camarillo
Melissa Camarillo rocks in the talent department. She cooks gourmet Indian food, makes Martha Stewart-esque crafts, designs jewelry, and creates custom stationary. She also holds a permanent place in pop culture for coining the catchphrase, “Jump the Couch” following Tom Cruise’s infamous loveseat-hopping appearance on Oprah. And we haven’t even started to talk about what she does during the work week.
In fact, being a rock star is almost part of Melissa’s job title. ACME partner Scott Demorest respectfully refers to her as such for her ability to quickly get things found, resolved and done in the office. As ACME’s resident butt kicker, whip cracker, bill payer and overall office wizard Melissa keeps things humming. But it wasn’t always business consulting, office management and the City of Roses. More than 10 years ago Melissa charted a new course in Sin City, where she gained invaluable experience as a convention hostess and part-time casino bookie before working as an executive assistant at a national non-profit and as an operations supervisor at a Las Vegas public relations firm. Melissa holds a degree from College of Southern Nevada and is a member of Meeting Planners International.
You won’t find her on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, but in 2003, one lucky guy caught a break when he saw Melissa’s online dating profile. One of the early success stories of online dating, Melissa and her husband were married the following year. Today, their original dating profiles, as well as first email exchange, are framed and on prominent display in their home. Living in Portland, Melissa and her husband raise a family and are known for hosting some wicked dinner parties for a group of close – and very lucky - friends.
