Kangaroo Dundee, Butterfly-man of Alcatraz, Mr. Try Anything… you
could conjure up many nicknames for Matt Rodgers. His life would make an
interesting “Wide World of Sports” TV special. Highlights: a
2,000-mile Australian bicycling and scuba adventure mingling with kangaroos,
sharks and wild parrots; five open-water swims from Alcatraz across San
Francisco Bay; numerous triathlons as well as races in each of the separate
triathlon disciplines. Oh, he was also a Texas high school Swimmer of the
Year, a four-year All-American at Stanford, and a finalist in the U.S. Olympic
swim team trials.
Obviously, Mr. Rodgers’ neighborhood is one of high achievement. His
wide-ranging work experience mirrors that of his accomplished personal life.
Industries he has engaged in include retail, utilities, high-tech, financial
services, telecommunications, construction and professional services. He’s
a skilled consultant and project director who can manage a product development
life cycle like it’s riding a bike.
Matt’s career rise started shortly after graduating from Stanford
with a bachelor’s in industrial engineering and engineering management.
His first stop was Andersen Consulting, where he got his feet wet on several
major projects that involved systems analysis, design, testing and implementation
of packaged systems. He then moved on to other supervisory positions, primarily
in the software industry, and gained valuable experience in all aspects
of product management. He’s well acquainted with every location on
the development road map. Now at ACME, Matt’s extensive background
and skills are valuable assets for our clients (and for us as well).
When not working, running, biking, swimming and testing the limits
of human endurance, Matt actually likes to kick back and read a book. No
kidding. His wife confirms it, and she assures us he does indeed sleep,
though we have yet to witness it ourselves.
