Kyle Roozen
"Whatever you do, don't doubt me." Those are fighting words right there. A ferocious competitor, Kyle doesn't take well to naysayers. In fact, they fuel his competitive fire. They all but guarantee that not only will he do it, but he'll do it best. "Do you have enough experience to be in this MBA program?" He graduated with honors, top five in his class - and had his first daughter and landed a new job along the way. "Does your expertise really lend itself to this project?" He turned a struggling product line around with a 29 percent revenue increase in two years. "Are you really cut out to be a runner?" He just set a new personal record for the 10k, averaging 5:35-minute miles. In case you're wondering, that's fast. Really, really fast.
Kyle's intense drive and commitment to hard work runs in his blood. Part of a large Dutch family, Kyle learned early on that if you're not going to do it right the first time, then you shouldn't do it at all. A mantra he's taken straight to heart. The senior project leader has more than 10 years of global project, product line and quality management experience. Having grown up with a fear of nuclear power, it might seem strange that Kyle found himself at GE Nuclear Energy for five years before transitioning to GE Security. But remember, Kyle doesn't like to be told he can't do something. So just to make his point, he chose a position that would give him added exposure to customers - near the nuclear plants - over a safe, every-day office job. He earned his bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University and a MBA from University of Washington.
Kyle, his wife and two daughters - Kaitlyn and Keira - spend their weekends seeking out new family adventures in the Portland area. From the rock-climbing gym to the Oregon Coast, the river or just the grocery store, this is a family on the move. Kyle's own personal "happy place" is a wood-fired pizza and Portland micro-brew. In fact he dreams of owning his own brewery, near a river, and serving wood-fired pizza. But in the meantime... "It won't be long until I figure out how to build my own pizza oven (and brew my own beer) in the confines of my home," he muses. Do you doubt him?
