Compared to friends with names like Einar, Bengo, Maja and Ziyad, “Kate” seems rather commonplace. Wrong, amigo. This Kate is anything but common. Besides having a planetary plethora of interesting friends (including a fiancé from Ghana whom she will marry in Mexico), Kate has multiple skills that range from debugging to dance. Her first major fork in the road was to decide between a consulting career or an M.F.A. in dance. Her feet let her mind take the lead. We thank them. After graduating from Macalester College, Kate accepted a position with Andersen Consulting. Her first career project catapulted her out of her comfort zone – into the realm of computer programming and debugging. During those early days and long nights, Kate learned the language and concepts of IT development and project management. After getting her feet wet at Andersen, Kate crossed the pond and completed a master’s program at the London School of Economics. She then began to apply her management skills by consulting for clients in health and human services, government, telecommunications and other industries. Following a sojourn into the nonprofit sector, Kate joined ACME to do what she loves best: fast-paced corporate consulting and problem-solving. We and our clients are fortunate she did. In sum, Kate is a woman of many talents, with a well-developed world view. She is whip-smart and fast on her feet – a result of many years of project consulting and multiple hours of dance practice. |
