Jason Gates
Jason Gates bought his first fixer-upper in 2002. It was a row house in an up-and-coming neighborhood near Baltimore's Inner Harbor. He spent two years, and far more money than he had paid for the house initially, meticulously restoring it to a blend of historic charm and modern livability. The success of the renovation inspired him to restore another house. And another. And another - a total of six more, scattered throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area, during the subsequent six years. Jason, who minored in architecture and had always been captivated by historic structures for their detail, craftsmanship and differentiation, was hooked. "Each house brought unique challenges, and some final products were better than others," says Jason, "but in each case I thoroughly enjoyed the outcome. My goal was to restore and preserve each one, while incorporating my own 'stamp' or style."
For Jason, restoring a broken-down house is a lot like tackling a new business challenge. He sees the potential in things. He has a knack for looking beyond what is and envisioning what could be - then making it happen. It's why he's such a valuable member of the ACME team. A senior project leader, Jason has more than 16 years of experience in business strategy, technology transformation and operational improvement program leadership. He has led large-scale global programs for Fortune 500 companies and advised clients in industries as diverse as automotive, consumer products, energy, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, technology and telecommunications. To most folks, building out a basement in a 100-year-old house and building a global shared services organization across 140+ countries couldn't be more different. But not to Jason. To him, it's all about assessing the situation, devising an effective strategy, and then getting down to business.
Jason lives in Portland, Oregon, where he spends his free time biking, hiking, kayaking, camping and searching for his next diamond in the rough.
