Chris Adamek, Managing Director
There are two kinds of horses in life – work horses and show horses. Chris Adamek is a work horse. The grandson of a New Mexico wheat farmer and cattle rancher, Chris spent his summers face-to-face with hard, manual work, be it racing against Mother Nature to get a crop in, or herding cattle in the unforgiving heat and dust. Being privy to the long hours and hard labor his grandfather put in every day motivated Chris to carry on the family tradition through an undying work ethic and commitment to success no matter how tough or long the road.
Chris' diligence is apparent in every consulting project he leads. Clients know that he will do whatever it takes - for however long it takes – in order to achieve the desired end goal. As Managing Director at ACME, Chris leads the Portland practice and has deep experience in the consumer products, high tech, and financial services industries. He has more than 15 years experience leading complex system implementations, executing business process re-engineering efforts and gross margin optimization projects. Prior to ACME Chris held positions at Accenture and Point B. Chris earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Portland and a master's degree from the University of Oregon, Lundquist College of Business.
Life in Portland is a bit different from the ways of the New Mexico ranch, so as an everyday reminder, a picture of the property sits on Chris' desk. “I look at that picture and often think that my hardest day at work was nothing close to that of my grandfather's." Still in his family, the ranch now offers life lessons to a new generation – Chris' children – who are developing their own work ethics with every moment they spend there.
